Doc you have an excellent point! Who has the time, man power, and money to compete with Sullivans? I mean that in no disrespect. But what I can't understand is all the money that people are spending to stand in a picture with a purple banner. At some point in time these cattle need to pay for themselves don't they? JMO

The Big Show / Thoughts on Pro Livestock Marketing Website

I noticed the website icon while I was on SP last week, so I called the guy up and posted a few animals for sale. For those grain producers out there it reminds me a lot if tractorhouse only for livestock. I like it because it could be a one stop shop for a buyers needs. What does everyone else think?

We have used Osage for three years now with great success.  He is a definite calving ease bull that stamps them all out the same. His daughters are moderate, easy keeping and have nice udders. I have reccommended him to many. However, this is the first set of his daughters we have calved out, so I am not an expert.

I would say the majority of the calving ease comes from castlerock, however, most of our Urlacher's come in with BW in the high 70's low 80's and to date we have not pulled one. I was thinking of using him on some second calving Ar Su Lu Osage daughters. Maybe that would be a little more safe the first time around.

The red bull is by our senior herd sire SULL GNCC Urlacher who is a CF Solution X Sugar N Spice (donor of Greenhorns). The roan calf is sired by Tm Gus.  Both bulls are out of a K-kim Castlerock cow that goes back to a cow we had that won the NWSS Jr. Show in 2005 when Harold Bertz judged.

Thank you very much. We are very pleased with him as well. He has a 78 lbs act. bw, 715 ww, and 1236 yw.  We plan to use him on heifers and then show him this fall.

I am new to SP, but have been a silent observer for a few years now.  It is a beautiful day here in central, Illinois, but far to wet to put corn in the ground. I attached a few pictures of a bull we plan on using, and his maternal brother born this spring. Both bulls are pretty dirty due to our current weather situation. Any thoughts?
