Heres a video of the kids county fair pig project we shot.  The show is 60 days away from when we did this.

Thanks,
Ron

Pretty good set of county hogs there...all of them are extremely sound and move like cats...I have to say at this point the blue hipped market gilt is my favorite...I like both the blue hogs I just think the barrow may be a tad overconditioned and may want to get stale on you before your show...but a good set of hogs there man.

Thanks Twisted!  We are pretty excited about the blue gilt also.  The blue barrow looks a little fatter in the video than he looks in real life but we had the same concern as you.  The kids started driving them more and we will split them up this weekend and change their rations around.  Up to this point they have all been fed together.

Outstanding video.  What did you use to make it?  Nice corgi too.
Thanks Jason! Nothing fancy for equipment.  I used our little Sony Bloggie flip video camera and then iMovie on our Mac to edit.  The Bloggie has been a fun little camera with really good quality, 720 or 1080p.  You give up some on the zoom compared to the bigger cameras but it sure is nice to slip in your pocket!

If you follow the fact that google is introducing fiber networks to several towns, you can see that sooner or later everyone is going to be a super fast connection.  Which means video becomes a standard and more so hd video will steam instantly.  Being able to produce videos will be a very good knack to have.

Ron rippin set of pigs. They can stand a lot of competition. Do you jackpot them @ all? Kids are doing a great job of working with the pigs. There are a bunch of kids that could watch and learn how to from watching your kids walk these pigs. They know where and when to use the stick and how much to use it. You can tell the small barrow hasn't quite got it yet. Congrats. Brent

Thanks Brent!  We haven't had a chance to jackpot at all this year.  Just never fit in.
Everybody at our house loves the pigs!  And we are pretty excited about this set.  Five weeks till county fair!

Ron loved watching your boys work the pigs. When my kids were young we showed pigs all over the midwest and were lucky enough to make some of the sales. I miss the friends that we made over the years. Good luck with the pigs. They'll for sure push hard. BC.

Thanks everyone!

The Blue But gilt went on to be Supreme Champion at the County Fair.  The Bleu But barrow was also heavy weight Champion and the Breeding gilt was Res Ch Commercial Breeding gilt.

They had a great day!!
