ok my show is in early june and we weighed the calves here the other day full. what im asking is are these weights good or should we start to panic yet
american x- 1040
yellow jacket- 1000
captian morgan- 970
another american x -  820
the two bigger calves are fed together and the smaller 2 are fed together. so about where should we be weighing (CONSIDERING these are full and we are in tx summer show). thanks in advance. any feedback would be appreciated

btw they are on a hot fat feed. getting the finisher poured to them (especially the yellow jacket pen)

Feeding in Texas heat must be a challenge. Do you have any idea what their daily gain has been on the current ration?

Assumed a couple of things.

Finished weight = 1250
ADG = 3

115 days x 3 lbs/day = 345 lbs

1250-345 = 905 lbs.

So, somewhere around 900 lbs, give or take, depending what you want the finished weight to be.

Use the basic formula for your own situation, it ain't that hard

The only calf I would worry about is the light one, 3 pounds a day puts you at 345 pounds at 115 so back off 30 days and you are at:
1295
1255
1225
1075
I would try to get some more weight on the lighter calf, he needs to gain around 4 pounds a day for at least 2-3 months unless he is just lighter framed. The other 3 are right on track. the last 30 days you can ease them right in there. Do you have a weigh back if not you have an easy 80 pound range to play with. Even if you have a weigh back you have some wiggle room.
Even if they slow down to 2 pounds a day the last month you are right where you want to be.

How fat is your Yellowjacket?  From my experience and what I know about them, they really don't want to "finish" till they are pushing 1400 lbs.  I'll bet a coke he's not real fat yet is he?  Just keep pouring it to him and hope you can get him fat without blowing the roof off of 1400 lbs.  You can show a Yellowjacket at 1350 real easy.  You can't successfully slow one down and them get fat - I don't think.

the yellow jacket is not as fat as we were expecting but thankfully we did our homework on him and considering he has been on finisher since june. he should be alright we think. he is gaining 3.6 lbs a day so he is definatly going to be a heavy weight but we are willing to take him at 1400 and just suck the weight off him that week at county. the calf im worried about is the american (big one). now we are hoping that dude slows down and im hoping someone on here will agree that he will stop. but this calf is home raised and he is gaining 5.4 lbs per day, what we are hopin is that that will surely go down right?. those are my personal 2 calves so those are the important ones (of course). but the fat on all of them is really good and not the problem. i guess the thing is how much do yalls cattle weigh at 115 days out.
