Been looking around, and these 16 ft Galvanized Livestock Cages that sit on flatbed trailer seem to be ideal for what I have plans for.  Any experience with them and any idea what they cost?  I've only found a single "used" one through my internet searches to do a cost comparison.

I bought one of these this summer that is a tube cage that sits on a flatbed (no sheet metal skin on sides or roof.  It isn't galvanized, it is painted.  I paid $600 used.  Don't know if that is good or bad, but it isn't beat up at all just a little minor surface rust.  It has worked for me just fine having hauled calves and hogs to the slaughter house.  The only downside is it doesn't have any protection from weather, so I only haul nice days unless it is to the locker plant.  My kids are grown up and gone so we aren't showing anymore and so I downsized my truck for better mileage and bought the flat bed and this insert.  For my uses now it works great and I now have a flatbed trailer that I use more than the 2-3 times a year that I haul cattle.

I know a guy that had one and he said it was great.  The only thing he said was it was heavy for him to move around. He was in his middle 70's then.  He ended up finding a wrecked pot trailer and cut the nose off it and used it.  He did say it was heavier but was alot better to use.  The guy is a trip.  Just thinking about some of his ideas just makes me laugh!
