looking for advice... My daughters 1st calf has, what we believe, an extreme case of contracted tendons... I have been splinting for about 12 hours a day for the last several days, she has had a shot of bo-se, she will get her self around and nurses well, but will not get her front legs up fully under her... Its been 2 weeks now and though there has been slight improvement she seems to have plateaued her progress...
I am meeting with a vet outside of our area this week to see what they have to say... I am just wondering if there is more I could be doing, she is a large calf with a big bone structure and getting quite heavy to lift over a square bale for physical therapy... I have also tried putting her in a sling to help her try to stand on those front legs... any suggestions...

I had the same thing happen this year with a large clubby bred heifer. She's now 6 weeks old and has had casts on her front legs since she was 3 days old. I just got to where I can take one of the casts off and she can stand normally on it (when she was born she'd walk on her elbows). I really think that the casts helped a lot. My vet also said that physical therapy would help stretch the tendons. Hope this helps!
