I have a few picks..... but I would love to hear more about Flying B Cut Above on pg 33.  I guess he runs by the nickname... Fat Butt !

"Fat Butt" is a bull that I have seen grow up since a baby calf.  He has always been really good and comes from a good solid cow family.  Greg Brown, who owns the bull is a good friend of mine, but I am not going to compliment his bull because of that.  Greg does nothing fancy with his cattle, they have to produce in the high humidity, hot climate of south Mississippi on pure grass.  This bull has always been good looking and very docile as an added advantage.  His daughter showed him at the Dixie National where he was deservedly Supreme Grand bull over about 400 bulls.  He is really sound and well made with a lot of muscle.  I took his picture in Denver, but this bull was not brought in in quite the same set of circumstances as the rest in Denver.  He was pulled in from the breeding pasture, two days later put in a trailer and hauled 18 hours to Denver and put on display the next day, which was also when his current promotional picture was taken. 

I have seen calves out of this bull also, bulls, steers and heifers  will be fine out of him with heifers being his strong suit in my opinion.  They are very feminine and great in their lines.  I would not look for him to add belly, but will certainly not take any away.  This is a really nice alternative bull, that just comes from a place a little off of the beaten path.

Thanks Mark.   I was tipped off to this bull shortly after Denver.  You are absolutely right about Greg's operation.  Fat Butt was delivered up here about a month ago and has exploded since his arrival.  I'd ventrure to guess he's gained 150 pounds in his brief Iowa stay as our feedstuff's are much more potent than that of southern Mississippi.
