This year at Canadian Western Agribition the Shorthorn champions both made the top 10 in the RBC Beef Supreme Challenge this has never happened before where both bull and female were chosen as finalists at the same time.
Bell M Farms and RSL Cattle Company were fortunate to exhibit Bell M Foreman 30A first in the breed show gaining Grand Champion Shorthorn Bull and then in the top 10. Bell M Foreman 30A is a son of JSF Top Hand 34R and out of Bell M Misty 57P, a Bell M Appollo 12L daughter.
JT Livestock and Pinch Hill Cattle Company won Grand Champion Shorthorn Female with Frasers Ruby Zaida 4Z with bull calf at side, JTPH Beat the Heat 584C. She was also declared a finalist in the supreme.
It was great to hear the positive remarks made towards the Shorthorn breed from cattlemen of other breeds commenting on how strong of a representation the breeders brought to the show.
