Sue. What strikes me about him is his natural balance the way he naturally stands up with very little coxing. He looks very good.  (thumbsup)

The video was damaged. It's one of the stories you can discuss over a 12pak. Brad Hook did what could do to save pieces.... clips in his edit.  I just love it- Brad is my hero.

I would love to hear more about Nitro calves? Minnesota is on the list this year for sure. Full brother to Nitro looked awesome at OBE- PVF Gold Nugget sold for $4900. Paint Valley had that group looking fancy.

Aussie you should see COXAN crosses...

It's NOT your connection.  The original video footage was from an old video camera (NOT Sue's) that needed it's heads cleaned.  It's a miracle I even got it off the tape.  Too bad....the footage of the bull is actually pretty good.

Nice bull ! I like the video - it kind of goes with the "back to the easy fleshing days" theme

Either it's my computor, or I'm seeing what everyone else above me saw.. Static and blurry..  The static line stayed on the bull's underline, and legs the entire time (Pretty well).  It actually ticks me off that this happens.. I got a very poor shot of his lower 1/3.  I could never get a real good shot of how balanced his underline/ center body depth contributed together, especially when on the move.

Must be my computor.

Bull looks great.  Video kinda reminds me of a Grindhouse production; not the content, but rather the purposeful film quality.  I think Brad is aspiring to become the Quentin Tarantino of cattle videos.  Good work.

Mine must not been as bad as others. I thought it was intentional like the old movies on Browarny site of the bulls from 70's. Great video. I could see how soft made and free moving he was from the video. Anxious to use his son they seem to appear to share alot of the same qualities.

I agree Brad's throw back to the older black and white worked with this tape and the bull. Troy Polyock ( sp?) took the footage and ran his #@$ off to keep up with CO.

This video was taken September of 2009-  Captain covered 34 females, we washed and Troy glued one leg and tail head on captain . Captain has wintered with cows since he was 18 mos old - no grain or  extras.

He weighed 1910 in this video - this video was taken just 3 days after Davis shorthorns, 2 breeders from MN, Kent Jaecke and Patrick Wall had seen the bull and 8 sons of captain. Earlier that summer we entertained breeders of all types and operation from Canada, Alabama, Tx, OH and PA.
The footage was not intended to be scratchy- the video was lost and then damaged- brad hook made it work. Lance and my father are in the video.

Today in working condition you will see Captain maintain a weight of 1900 to 2100 lbs. He covered over 60 hd last summer and weighed 2100 from the time he left our place in July until september - just before stud.

Captain was purchased from a couple that grew up raising Angus in the sandhills of NE. Captain was the first Shorthorn bull they sold. Captain's dam was raised in MT, Dover Sindelair is no stranger to the breed of commerical shorthorns.  A& T Cattle have over 100 hd of shorthorns and several 100 hd of black angus.  Captains breeding is completely intended for the commerical operation - it just so happens some of his calves can be pretty enough for a steer show too. Two of his sons were sale toppers at Iowa and Ohio Beef Expo this past spring.

I also thought the video quality was intentional..fit the theme of the video. Excellent bull - NATURAL power, capacity, muscle. All bull rather than all hair.

Good info sue. Like I have said before, I have seen the bull on different occasions. I loved him. His libido has not been mentioned yet but I think its one of his coolest assests. I have had some bulls that were just lazy and it annoyed me to no end. CO is a breeding bull. He talks to his ladies all the time when I was there. I personally like a bull that is proud as a peacock.
