that kind of stuff happens often with those guys. Stierwalts steer that won NAILE a couple years back was a skinny 1500 calf from arkansas. thats the beauty of getting to go through 1000's of calves a year and being able to wait to see the green ones start putting on weight. and of course being able see the potential sure helps

WHAT IS THE DEAL ON THE SALE PRICE FOR THE STEERS BEING SO SO LOW?...60 THOUSAND NICE BUT MY GOD ALOT OF STATE FAIRS PAY THAT, the economy is bad but other shows are paying out alot and the american royal usually pays the most?

Its CALLED THE ECOMONY AND THE ELECTIONS.  Everyone is running scared right now just ask any retailer, wholesaler or manufacturer how their sales or holding up!!  Watch the news and look for any good indicators out there. It may get better after the elections I for one am holding my breath as a retailer.

BTW I would take $60,000 in a heartbeat and be glad that someone is still willing to "donate  money".

You probably need to reread Matt's Blog......it doesn't say "Goretska's" bought the steer for $2200......because they didn't.  I don't know EXACTLY who bought him first, but I do know that Kevin Bremer (who I think actually bought him first), Chad Foreman and Nick Rieman were all involved with the steer in some manner, before Tracy ever got ahold of him.

All I know is.....I'm just tickled they all did what they did......'cause it worked out pretty dang nice! And I was sure to personally thank all of them that were there.

Zak.....the steer was raised in Nebraska by Thunker's, and was in a sale with Mark Landgren.  I got a pre-show interview with them at the Royal that turned out nice.
