I have scheduled an appointment with an animal chiropractor for my son's heifer.  She walked fine until she fell one day at a show walking from the wash rack.  The accident happended 7 months ago and she just keeps getting worse.  It seems as though there is something wrong with her hips.  Just checking to see if anyone has used an animal chiropractor before.  If you have used a chiropractor, were you satisfied with the results?

Yes I have used one before. I was very pleased with the results. My heifer was walking short strided and you could tell her back was out of place. After the chiropracter visit everything slowly started getting better. who are you taking your heifer too see?

The farm I worked for in Denver had a bull we had worked on. The results were night and day different. I was hesitant at first, but I'm a believer now. Its amazing! I guess they are kinda like us, when ur messed up an adjustment works.

Since your in OK, it's possible your going to Bledsoe? I can't speak for any others, but I have seen some very dramatic turnarounds on animals he has adjusted. We had a heifer last year that was so stoved up it would take her like 5 minutes after she stood up to be able to walk. She was also off her feed. Within a week, she was kickin up her heels and eating like there was no tomorrow. I'm sure there's not a 100% success rate, but I would definitely give it a try. Good luck!

I am glad to hear that people have had good results from using an animail chiropractor.  I didn't know where to start so I just used the google search engine and found some articles and tv clips with a doctor named Michael Chiaffitelli.  He is out of Edmond Oklahoma and does a lot of work with animals.  If he can't make it today, I might give the one mentioned above a call.  My kids would sure like to have their heifer back in show condition again.  They are pretty attached to her.

Dr. Gene Bledsoe from Bristow, OK. He's on here from time to time, so I hope he doesn't mind me posting his number. (918) 605-1900. He does a great job, and is a great guy!! I used him this past summer, and would not hesitate to use him again.

Sambosu, I do not know Dr. Chiaffitelli. But, I am sure he is fine. The only suggestion I have to everyone is to find an animal chiro that is certified through the AVCA (American Veterinary Chiropractic Association). They are the best certification there is. In Oklahoma a chiro or vet must be certified through the AVCA to LEGALLY adjust any animal.
Please don't expect miracles from one ajustment due to the fact that the initial injury has been so long. But, It should help.
Cowsnsows and pjkjr4... thanks for the props. and, i don't mind u giving my number. Just appreciate the opportunity to have helped some of your cattle.
If anyone has any questions about animal chiro's...PM me. I can find a good cattle chiro close to you. Remember, cattle are WAY different than adjusting horses!

Dr. Bledsoe.  Thanks for the information.  I went to the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association website and looked up the veterinarians in Oklahoma that are certified.  Fortunately, the one I called is certified.  Can you give an idea on how many adjustments an animal typically needs and how often.  I know when I go to the chiropractor, it seems like he recommends I come back at least once a week for several weeks.  Hopefully, she isn't as bad off as I am with my back.  ;D.  Thanks again.
