Just got my online Drovers newsletter.  Seems like Peta placed a member in a hog farm undercover.  I was apaulled by what they are reporting.  My question is if this person is an animal loving person, how could they just sit there and watch this and not stop it?  If these people did this acts...what in the world kind of people do stuff like this?  I'm no tree hugger by no means, but I do have compassion for animals.  Just makes me sick a couple people make us all look like them.

Here's the link I think  OK I cann't copy and paste worth a hoot.  Its at www.drovers.com under news and editorials.  If anyone is better at this and can post the link I'd appreciate it.

because their goal is elimination of using animals for food.

If we don't have them for food, what are we going to use them for?  I love my cows, but good gravy, they're not pets.  These people REALLY don't realize that if nobody has to raise these animals for food, then EVERY "farm" that you see will be full of filth, crippled and neglected animals, and will be cesspools for countless diseases?  It really does sicken me to think that things could get worse because of people like this who think they are making things better.

in 5th grade peta came to my school and handed out "trading cards" of fat kids who get picked on because they eat meat and comic books called "your mommy kills animals" I threw them in the trash because i knew better but some kids even cried and stuff. PETA people are just lunatics who think they are better than anyone else

(lol) they came to my class quite a few years ago, I think I was in 7th grade or so.  I literally laughed at them.  It really makes them mad when a young person can shoot down their major points.  Just keep teaching any young kids you know that God made cows, pigs, chickens, and all other food animals for us to eat, and that we are supposed to be good keepers of the earth and it's critters.

just like the horse slaughter, they are thinking long term past the misery.  only thing is, there will be MORE misery, not less.  think of india with cattle.  they're everywhere.  think wild horses everywhere too.  you think deer kills by auto are bad?  wait till horses and cows come along.

they are intolerant of other's views.  to me, they are a cult, and should be treated as such.  that said, some of the abuse of animals is obviously annoying. some of it is due to desensitization and normalcy creep.  one shouldn't need them to address these issues.

why is it necessary to provide a link on drovers to peta?  Also, why is editor suggesting "don't blame peta"?  Isn't this just playing in their evil, vile hands?

But why even give them any support.

That is one of the majors problems... most of them don't believe in God.  I suspect that they almost exclusively believe in evolution, not creation.  Most of them think that we evolved & we are really 1st cousins with a bunch of apes and that we really are no different from the rest of the animals.  knabe is right, they are like a cult.  But, you are right too, if enough young people would embrace the Bible & it's teachings, peta would shrivel up & blow away.

I believe in the red paragraph that follows the editoral. The problem isn't peta, it is the fact that we, as animal ag folks, will not police ourselves. If we see abuse, WE need to report it. So folks, point the fingers toward yourselves.....
