Amen should be a very useable option for several cows this year. Anybody  got calves by him this spring? How do they look? Birth weights, colors etc. Thanks!

I also had a real nice heifer out of a pretty plain and small angus cow. Heifer has tons of hair and is very thick maybe market heifer type thick but we dont have market heifer classes over here. She is pretty small but I am assuming that comes from mama. Really good disposition too. Dont know on birthweight I was not around when she calved last year. Overall I really like her and Amen. I will definately use him again

I got a Steer and a Heifer outta him. The smokey steer is 6 mos. old in this photo, out of a Charolais X commercial cow, and the Black Heifer at 1 week old out of a Reg. Angus cow. Both are sound as a cat, move great! The Steer breaks behind his shoulders a bit, but now he is 10 mos. old and seems to be getting better. Could be the cow on that, The heifer is cool, she is IMO better than the steer. Good bone in both.

I really liked the steer I had out of him last year, he improved the cows structure and soundness. He was the second highest selling steer at the sale I took him to and he took quite the trip from there to his new home. I have a couple due to him this year and plan to continue to use him on my + cows.

We had an Amen heifer last year and will breed THC cows to him again.  The heifer is sound as a cat, very correct and gentle as a pup. I was looking for depth and smaller frame in the resulting calf, he did reduce frame on this particular cow (which was a good thing). I have retained the heifer back in the herd; she is good enough to hang on to. Have another Sim x Chi cow due this spring that has plenty of depth so we'll get another look.

I just had a heifer calf born yesterday out of him, she looks good heavy boned thick and good hair born 100lbs unassisted. Her dam is a black rhino x PB Angus. I'll post pictures when I get some.

I think that he is a good option Carlson, but how old is your Heat Wave? Heat Wave is gonna make the BW go up and it sounds as if Amen does too. She better be able to handle it.

Here's the amen heifer I had this year born on 2/9/2013. She's the one on the left in the second photo.

This is an Amen X Golden Child bull calf we had last year, we actually just had a full sib heifer to this one born last week that looks just as promising.  We have had 3 Amen calves total now, all unassisted and all have been very marketable.

im gonna use him just not sure if on just one of my heatwaves or both of them

I dont know if I personally would do that because If I do rememer correctly your 2nd heat wave is only on her first calf now so I think it might be hard for her to have a 100 pound calf as a 3 year old.
