I have at stud, super big boned, big hipped, big footed. If I could change him I would clean his front, and add more natural depth of rib. But overall he's still the stud bull that was at Denver.

It is both, after Denver the list was half mile long and then when, the quality didn't reach the owners liking they pulled it until he reached where they wanted. He's back producing just hard to cover all of the pre-orders as well as the orders stacking up.

Go to the Minneart Website there are several shown. I believe that the cow also had a heifer that won maine junior nationals. The cow also had a very successful show career herself. I guess she had another jam up bull calf this year.

Griswold has a new bull that is a Predator X Hard Whiskey's dam. His name is Showcase. John told me they currently have semen from him.

I know of a few calves out if him that flat suck. Knowing the type of cows those ones are out of. HW needs bred to a mid frame, belly dragging good fronted cow. From the few I've seen bone is there, just avg hair, but was bred to avg cows at best.

I thought looking through all the videos and photos from Denver that Hard Whiskey was a "pretty" looking bull but had a more typical Maine x Chi-Ang build and would probably look a bit too horsey without his hair. He does have really good genetics and goes back to some great cows including a great Chi-Angus cow at the bottom. I think he will be very cow specific. I'm sure we'll see some good reports on him.

How did you get semen on him last year? If my memory serves me correct, none was released last year due to them not being able to get him to freeze....

There was a lot more of it spread around last year than most people think.  Most of it poor quality though.  Wish mine would have been poor quality!

As Telos said Hard Whiskey is going to have to be used on a certain cow type you can't just put him on a cow and it work. He's gonna need to be used on a more moderate framed, big middled, in my opinion a little bigger boned cow to be really successful. It is going to be interesting to see on the right cows what kind of calves he throws.
