He sure did have some super heifers sell this past fall. I'm toying with the thought of flushing him to one of my cows however I'm disappointed that his milk EPD is so low and I've already been using Upgrade.

Has anyone seen calves or used him?

I would also like to know. I have seen some daughters that were pretty impressive and wanted to know some opinions. Hudson Pines had some heifers out of him at their Living Legacy sale this past October.

I bought a semen package when they first became available. Thinking I'd start small, I bred three good cows to him, not world beaters, just good PB Simmi cows. One was a Dew Time, one a Trademark, and one a Laredo. I sold one heifer for 7500 and I still have a heifer and a bull that are extemely high quality. Now I wish I would have used him alot more. I feel like he sure has his place, but everyone has jumped on the Milestone bandwagon. I was flipping through the SimMagic On Ice catalog and there are more Milestone embryos than anything else. Personally, I feel like he's as good of an outcross bull as we have seen in quite a while, and he can sire those eye-appealig females that can compete at the highest level, as he has already shown. However, I only plan on flushing one cow to him in the next few months because there will be so many this time next year...I guess time will tell. I think he works best on good necked, easy fleshing, soft middled, moderate framed, sound structured females that lack muscle and/or bone. As far as the milk EPD, it's pretty ugly. He does have great growth numbers though. I have not bought the first straw of Uprade, and imo you will like your Milestone's more than your Upgrade's, especially your females.

I've heard that he is working best on smooth made Dream On daughters, at least that was observed in his first calf crop.  I'm sure he will work on other cows, but that's the type he clicks with.  I believe strongly in the use of EPD's in genetic selection (my hubby has a PhD in livestock genetics), but as many have mentioned on this board recently, heavy WW's and YW's skew MM in a negative direction in the ASA model.  Until his daughters are in production, his MM number is only a guess.  Same is true with NLC Upgrade.
