We mix our own ration using cracked corn, 34% protein suplament , oats, cotton seed hulls, molasses ..... 10% of the ration is oats, 15% of the ration is cotton seed hull pellets, if the calves,(steers and heifers) start to carry to much condition we add some beet pulp, and adjust the protein. One month before show we also add some beat pulp to produce more fill for the show. An observation I have made is the calves like the taste of cotton seed hulls better than beat pulp. The calves get mineral free choice. What do you think of this program? If you feed beat pulp , how much do you add to the ration?
