I am sure along the way there has been a similar post just couldn't find it in search. If I was trying to improve in every aspect possibly with the exception of frame what would be the best carrier free bull to go with. It could be for show or replacement heifers and breed does not matter. The cow in question is my daughters first born at our place and there is more sentimental good than quality good. She is a angus/brangus cross. She is not a complete wreck but really could use a super bull to help her offspring. She is due to valve next spring. So at this point I am just thinking of what could be.

a good bull to improve everything i think is yellow jacket. or carpe diem. but they wont improve everything. no bull will. they are just complete. but shoot. a brahman or jersey bull can be complete as well. (lol)

Yeah I know there is not going to be a end all be all answer just wandering what everyone has had the best return on. Like you say anything could fall into that territory. How about going with a zebu or longhorn, just kidding of course.

Good thought romax. She carrying a easy deal sons calf right now. We will see how that turns out. I also was aware that carpe diem was a carrier, thanks though. He is one of the few I already knew the carrier status on.

Sunseeker seems to really do a good job but I know you said you wanted a clean bull.

Some of the suggestions are not defect free. So be careful.

I might go with OCC or Duff angus genetics.  They would add correctness and thickness, while maintaining maternal ability and easy fleshing ability.

i agree, sunseeker and heatseeker are very far from defect free, complete bulls. you are going to have a huge hit or huge miss with them. and i dont believe thats what you are looking for. now if you wanted to risk it to get rich. go for them

Depending where you are in Texas, I have a bull named Mercy 66S. He is a Hard Core X Pinnacle 4J purebred Maine bull. He is a full brother to Hard Drive. We have been using him for our cleanup bull but after 3 years of this we bred everything to him last year and have excellent fall calves out of Angus cows. Last year we also let a couple of friends breed their brahman influenced cows to him and we have some outstanding calves out of him. Out of the charolais cross there is a smokie and out of the gert cross a black bull calf, and out of a brangus X we got a red bull calf. All of these were first calf heifers and the calves were all under 80lbs. The birthweights on the angus cows were 55 -65 lbs. Hair is gorgeous, structure is outstanding, cool fronted, with a great disposition. His first females we kept are going to calve this spring to Tyson and Boomer....Bring the heifer down to us and we will get her bred to him if you would like. There is no guesswork with this one and he is clean. Attached are a few pics of maintainers out of Mercy. I am trying to get the videos sent to me of the brahman X calves off of my phone and downloaded, but I am having a difficult time doing it. The smokie is attached.
