I know there is an awful lot of information scattered about containing multiple opinions on what's the best product, practices and correctional measures for helping out with pastern issues. (Don't want to start a debate on breeding, structural flaws, conformation, etc.)

I have a steer that's fairly young, approximately 700lbs that won't be going to a show until next spring. He has some extra flex in his fetlock joint.  When he walks it flexes forward.  When he is standing and tied he doesn't rock a lot or shift his weight as if to be in any pain.  I know a hoof trimming will help.  I'm just curious to know if Sta-Sound Fix A Stride is best for this situation, Lubrisyn or some other project out there.  I want to try to do as much as I can prior to the show considering I have a lot of time.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Could you post a video or at least a photo? Not sure I understand the issue. I think the calf is straight legged but not sure.

I don't think there is a product to help with the issue.  As you mentioned a good hoof trimmer might help.  That being said, I like a little extra set.  Judges are so used to looking at straight cattle some of them may have issue with it but most will not.  My only concern would be does he drop hook to pin on the move?  If he keeps a level hip when walking I would be even less concerned with the issue.  On the other hand if he does drop hook to pin on the move I think more judges will have issues with him.  As mentioned above a video would be nice.
