Just curious what everyone thinks are the best red Simmental bulls out there right now. I have a red carrier cow that I am looking to possibly get a red calf out of. I have seen Long's Steel Shot, Houston X01, Kappes Pendleton, etc. All good looking bulls just curious what everyone elses thoughts are

I would say based on calves that I have seen at Simmental sales it's hard to go against Mack AF, he has an impressive video on youtube. Not sure on his semen situation. Houston X01 is a bull we plan to use and have seen a few pop up in some sales that look nice. Remington Red Label always impressed me, but he has faded off a little the past few years. Good topic though. Hopefully you get some more responses.

Amigo is my favorite, very consistant dream on son. I may use a son of Houston or Houston himself this year. The bull pendleton also looks promising.

Check out GCC Red Rider. Low API but nice front and a big rear. Should make some hairy calves with some Maine influence in there. Out of ZKCC Chopper who goes back to Steel Force and Meyer 734.

I really like the looks of those three calves of Houston. Does anyone else of any experience with him? He for sure gets my vote.

I sold a really nice Houston hfr out of the field this past summer, right off of her dam. Probably the best hfr I've ever raised.

Gargan what did you use him on?
A total recall x dream on halfblood cow I bought from Griswold's. She's a moderate, soggy made female. Here's a cell pic of her

With respect to Houston: Make sure the cow has plenty of "set" to her hind leg.  He will make them really straight and they can "goose step" a little.

An old red bull that Drake's and Sandeen's had success with is Meyer's Red Top.

houston worked on this cow. the 2 above and a good black heifer that will be in ft worth plus a red bull and 2 heifers that sold really well in tx ltd edition.
