I have two cows id like to breed to shorthorn bulls. Both cows are sound hand have had 1 calf.

Cow number 1 is out of heatwave and a friction cow. she is real cool fronted, wide, and pretty stout but could use a little more depth of body and a more maternal look to her.

Cow number 2 is half angus half Maine. she is more angus looking that the other. I would like to breed her to something freak fronted, shag haired, Heavy Boned and really wide.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I would maybe say Cloud 9 or Damn Proud on the TH free cow, although I don't think Damn Proud will add a ton of shag and maybe can add a little size...on the other cow possibly JPJ, I've seen a lot of scenarios where he has worked on Heat Wave cows.

Starburst on both. If you are raising clubcalves he is what you want.

I have seen some good Starburst calves.  I've also seen a few with some structure issues when they are young.

I know I'm biased, but I think Hidden Treasure will work for both cows.  After two calving seasons he has proven to be consistently siring sound, stout and good haired cattle from a TH and PHA free PB bull.

thanks for all the replies. Starburst was a bull that caught my eye a while ago. I love the looks of him. I have seen a lot of great JPJ calves too. I will probably breed the heatwave to JPJ, and the Maine/Angus to Starburst. thanks for the help!

I would look at FSF Assasin along with FSF Starburst and Hidden Treasure on either one.Hes clean:larger than Starburst-and related to Stardust sire of Starburst and hes  a tank-;similar in a way to Hidden Treasure:maybe a little bigger, cant tell-- O0

So far Red, White, and Roan looks like a freakier version of JPJ in terms of muscle and hair, but I have seen neither in pictures and am basing that judgement off of pictures.
