Bible vs. Koran

I have to think to myself :  If a church or another group had planned to burn the Holy Bible, would there be such gibberish about blowing people up? Would there be such protest? Would obama be speaking out against it? Would anyone care?

I truly think the media will be the downfall of this country. If no one reported on it and gave this lunatic a minute of time to tell his idea then no one would be hurt by it. I wish that on 9-11 no media showed up in that little town to film it then no one but who was there could see if they did it or not. I dont think that will happen though. Also cant see why the media has to report on the doings of the Army and such so that the enemy could just watch TV to see how the war will procede.I would take national protection over free speech.

I agree with your point 100% Show Heifer.  I find it interesting that we watch on World News all kinds of protests against our country that involve flag burning, etc.  However, this one incident has brought out the big political guns to get it stopped.  Meanwhile, my Christmas vacation is now called Holiday vacation and I no longer get Good Friday off as a holiday.  Are we really making progress as a country?  I wonder sometimes.

There is more than just one issue here. Both the USA and Canada have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan putting their lives on the line fighting terrorist groups. Some guy decides he is going to burn Moslem Holy books because he has the freedom to and it’s the freedom those very troops are fighting for. Yes innocent people will die because of his actions because he suddenly has the media focusing on him. He is actually a coward abusing his rights. He won’t be showing up anywhere near a place that is dangerous to himself. Frostback is absolutely right this guy isn’t worthy of media attention.
Secondly our society has become so politically correct it is disgusting. If someone was burning Bibles it would never get the same media attention. That’s because Christians don’t usually start blowing people up for being stupid, actually most Moslems don’t either. We need to start targeting terrorist groups not Moslems. The Klu Klux Klan carry burning crosses around but  it doesn’t make them Christians.  Everyday Moslems must start to constantly condemn terrorist groups operating under the Moslem name or no progress will ever be made. Terrorists are evil; they are murderer’s end of story.
My third point is it is way too easy to move to the USA or Canada. I don’t care what culture you come from but you should speak English and be coming to the new country to embrace what it stands for not trying to transplant your culture here.

Enough said.  Our modern government officials are a bunch of fools.  My 2 cents anyways...

Sure doesn't seem like progress to me... letting everyone else dictate how we are supposed to act or "not" react?  The Imam Rauf basically said that if the pastor burned the Koran and they didn't get to build there mosque there would be blood?  How much longer are we supposed to show our tolerance...  to people that live for intolerance?  We have our soldiers overseas fighting when we'd better start fighting right her at home. God help us all.
