Blow & Go Show

Our fair is thinking of going to a no-fit show (blow & go).  What can you use?  What can't you use?  We will have to be specific in our rule book!!

At our county heifer show which is no fit, we say no glue/paint. Pink Oil, Kleen Sheen, Show Foam etc. are fair game.
Thats just how we do it.

We go to a show every year that doesn't allow aerosols. So really the only thing you can use is kleen sheen and other products of the such. It makes for a short day and no long clean ups as usual. 

Pretty sure no glue and no paint. as far as i know. Sheens/revive, etc r fair though.

Thats the way most of our shows down here are..the only show fro both steers and heifers that is full fit is ft worth...the rest are slicked steers and blow and go shows...we use everything we can except glues and paints...Thats where your homework counts!! Shaving cream can hold hair very well if its worked right. I use it on a regular basis to get stubborn hair where it is supposed to be!

The rules for our county show just reads  "There will be no adhesives allowed in grooming livestock". 

You can add paint to the rule if you want, but without glue, there's not a whole lot of need for it anyway.  Some folks still wanted to paint hooves, that's why paint wasn't included in the rule.  I guess it does open the door for touching up bare spots, etc..., but it's never really been a big deal here.

here in ohio are county u cant use anything but water and joy soap it sucks...

Our county fair has been blow and show for about 15 years now.  We can use only water and joy soap as well.  I agree showsteer09.  I am hoping that in the future the fair board will once again allow fitting.  I would be fine with no paint or twine.  We used to have a fitting competition on the same evening as the showmanship classes which was pretty neat.  On that day you could only wash the calf and blow dry.  Each class would enter the ring and tie their calves around the perimeter.  The kids then had a half hour to "fit" one side of their animal.  When our fair went the blow and show route, this competition ended.

"Nothing you have to wash out" is how we do "Blow and Go Shows" in the south. You can still use pink oil for a bloom.
