I have a limousin heifer that was born 2/4/11 i am trying to figure out who to breed her to I would prefer to breed her to a club calf but I dont want to have calving issues.  Does anyone have any bull suggestions or does anyone think i should just breed her to a limousin bull for her first calf.  Has anyone tried limousin simmintal crosses.  I was looking at the club calf bull Simple Man and the simmintal bull Dream On.  She has a -1.1 BW EPD.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Breed her to a Angus bull. You love the results. I have had good luck with SAV genetics on my Limi cattle, they will put some guts in them. I have seen some half blood Limi calves out of club calf bulls that turn out really good, and some that are god awful bad, depends on what your heifer is like.

Look into some shorthorns. My husband had Limis and I had Shortis when we meet and we had good luck crossing the two. Another good bull we had luck on Limis was Full Form. Used him on first timers too. I have a heifer due to him in March. Make really good cows.

If you want club calve go Jesse James. We use Jesse James on heifers and haven't had troubles at all.

If you still don't wanna take a risk on club calf, then go Angus.
