Got a group of nice commerical angus and simm/angus heifers that I am going to breed here this spring. I intend to keep a few for myself and sell the rest as either breds or go ahead and calve them out and then sell them. My question is does anyone see the added value in breeding them to sexed semen? If so bull sexed or heifer sexed? I know for a commercial cattleman a bull calf has more value, but with these being first calf heifers would potential buyers shy away for fear of the bull calves being bigger than the heifers? Probably either breeding these heifers to In Dew Time or the Genex Angus bull Right Answer. Thoughts and opinions appreciated.
