Mrs. Sawboss, if those calves couldn't at least run for a class here up north at a state fair, I'd eat my hat.  Congrats to both of the boys, that's some tremendous teamwork!

Thanks for all the kind words.  I had some serious health issues this past summer, so the boys really stepped up their game taking 100% care of the calves.  Winning was nice, but just being around to be a part of it was priceless.  Grand Champion was bred by Garrett Gerhardt and the Reserve Champion was bred by Dr. Mike Mimms.

I am in Nacogdoches County also, though I just moved here last yr and my show days are long in the past! I made it out to the steer show both years, and I am gonna tell you that the caliber of steers at this county show in what is a fairly small county is nothing short of amazing. The Reserve Champion in Houston came from Nacogdoches County, that young man had reserve Champion Simmental at this show, and his older brother had Champion AOB here, that brother combination one-two'ed em at this show last year. And everything that family buys just about is as a prospect for a major.  Likewise the Carrol brothers always lead some very nice calves in the ring.  I have ring stewarded the show here, and helped with some showmanship clinics, and these 2 boys are both fine young men and are always a pleasure to work with.  Well deserved win here, in a very tought county!

Those two are not brothers...they are first cousins.  Older of the two won grand last year with exoctic class winner.  Reserve  grand was a little girl from Martinsville with AOB class winner.

Thanks for the kind words about my boys.  I am pretty fond of them and proud of all they have accomplished!

Oooops...see I told you I am new, I thought Clint and JT were brothers! And I thought JT's reserve exotic last year was also reserve overall but now that you mention it, I remember the AOB being reserve.  No problem on the kind words, wouldnt say it if it were not true!
