to clarify,  is she a virgin heifer?  Ali is her sire?  if both are true, you probably need to look at a bull like Northern Impovement or The Answer.  proven calving ease pb angus bulls that should give you some extension and look.  The Maine calving ease bulls are mostly descendants of Ali and i would stay away from doubling that up.  if you were really fired up about something clubby you could go with Total Solution as an outcross.  if she is an Ali, she would be 50% maine and calves from any bull would be registerable as maintainers.

Here are a couple of options to look at. If she is a first calf heifer I'd look at an angus bull DaEsRo Twister first. He will add height and some extension. I have personally used him on heifers. He worked well for us. Now if you want a Maine other than Ali breeding look at DJ Caesar or Foreplay both should add a little height and extension. Maine Break would be an other option as well. But use caution with these maine bulls on first calf heifers.

All these Big shots selling semen spend a ton of money to convince us that breeding a great calf is all about the Bull. I say "Bull"!

Ask any sage Cowman how to breed that great calf, and most will tell you the Cow produces the greatest influence in the Calf.

You stated your Heifer is Short, Wide, Muscley, Short necked, and Post legged. If she were mine, she would be the first sorted to the sale barn.

Use the money from the sale of your heifer, and find a proven, Good Cow!
