Also if you use just one or two bulls it is less expensive because many bulls it is a 5 straw minimum. If you use several then you are going to have quite a bit of money wrapped up in breeding a few females. We do not have a large herd either. We have to be selective in how we go about bulls. Also remember alive calves are more important and worth more than dead ones. You may want power but a 140 lbs dead one doesn't really matter. Vet bills add up too if they have to be called out for every single one.

i honestly would try to stay away from the heatwave lines. That takes away all the previously stated options. I'd go Bojo, or possibly alias or texas twister. I feel like a charlois could work well for her to add power. I personally really like uno mas although many others probably don't.

Since your cow could be a th carrier, has hard calving genetics and is a heatwave I would stay away from the heatwave sons.  I would look at I-80 because he is a higher percentage  maine that would add some consistency to your crossbred cow, is easy calving and is th free.  As you said you only have 6 cows and if you breed her to a carrier bull you could very easily only have 5 calves...

Amen and The Maine Man would be other good choices

"He has massive muscle shape with a cool front end. Its hard to believe that Amen is genetic defect free as powerful as he is." - Amen, from the Bull Barn Genetics website: http://www.bullbarn.com/clubepdtest.asp?ID=690  Clean.  And 8.28% Chi.  Your heifer's 6.83%, right?  Resulting heifer calf would meet the minimum % Chi for Louisville, Forth Worth, Jr. Nationals, etc....not all end up bull calves...

Texas twister is a heat wave son. I don't really see where your cow needs power though. Try i80 or yellow jacket on her. I also wouldn't breed all your cows to the same bull. Cows are different and should be bred accordingly.

If you want power, I would truly stay away from 1-80. He is just going to pretty them up and may keep the power of the cow but he isnt going to add any. If you want power and TH Free, Try Yellow Jacket or Thriller. If she is TH Free, go MAB or I would try Bodacious just because theres no HW in him.

I honestly think I-80 is what this cow needs, she isn't in need of tons of power. You just happened to breed to two not very powerful bulls the first two times.

I see two things that should be addressed before power IMO. First off are her wheels, the back ones I already statedstated my opinion....the front ones are tough to judge in the picture but look to be pretty "posty". Secondly, id try to clean/add some neck to her. Some bulls that come to mind for me are I80, Eye Candy, maybe MAB, maybe  Bojo, maybe Monopoly $. Hope this helps.

But bulls that just add power, from personal use my votes would go to Walks alone and Sunseeker (very underrated bull).

Sunseeker, Man Among Boys, Texas Twister, Solid Gold, BIM, Walks Alone, Bojo, Trading Favors, Crowd Favorite.  You should have a good chance of getting whatever you want w/ one of these sires.  Just pull some hair and send it in and order some semen.

Walks Alone - TH Carrier.  Heat Wave son.  Seen a lot of small calves by him.  He himself I've heard is small.

Sunseeker - Plain fronted.  They do well as calves but quit later on.

Never personally had that problem, havn't raised a large quantity of them though. Ironically I'd say as a whole my Sunseekers have been the best.

Yes I would agree the the Walks Alone's tend to be smaller framed. But he does have his place, we use him on big 1500lbs Angus cows and have had great luck with him. The original poster asked for a bull that added power, so just purely off of power I said Walks Alone.
