You should know that you probably won't get very good steers with i80. He is used for making show heifers.

Carlson, in order to correctly choose a bull for your program you are going to have to choose steers or heifers. There are very few bulls that will make both, not saying there aren't some but there are very few Monopoly is one as long as you breed him to the right cow. Same can be said for the cows you are breeding I actually have one cow, that wont ever make a steer, and another that wont ever make a heifer. I agree with not trying to get to complicated with your breeding but at the same time you have to use a bull that complements your cow. It's hard making those decisions sometimes because there are so many opinions given and every bull picture makes the bull look really good, but in the end you yourself have to go look at the cow and decide what does she need and breed her accordingly, we can sit here all day and throw bull name after bull name and you will keep switching your decision based upon us. Your original post just asked for bulls for power so that is what you got, when you ask for breeding opinions start with a picture of the cow, and what you are looking for in the end product and we can give our opinions accordingly.

yeah i-80 isnr made for steers. some people will say oh oh oh well this one won here. but in all honesty, out of a hundred steers, you may get 5 to make a run against a crossbred by monopoly or walks alone. you do have to decide if you want steers or heifers. It says you want power, which I take it that you would want steers, and if you want steers I think you are heading the wrong way with i-80. JMO!

Breed her to an f1 Bradford bull and pray to whomever people pray to these days that it's a heifer

Take that heifer and make a recip out of her

Go online and buy embryos so you won't have to stress out all the time, the decision will be made for you and you'll get a powerful calf  <rock>

Carlson it has nothing to do with asking about your herd. We don't have a problem with you asking, it's just the endless questions on every bull thread constantly asking the same questions on the posts. I have a small herd a majority of these people have small herd. You just don't ever seem to acknowledge talked posts

I also have a very small herd. I dont stress near this much tho lol. You need to have a goal in mind for each of your cows. Do some research on bloodlines look at what crosses have worked. I was also told at one time that it takes just as much money and feed to feed an okay or average cow or a great one. The embryo idea isnt bad either. Buy a couple of packages and either replace your cows or go the direction you want to go but you have to have a goal. You do ask alot of questions but instead of asking on a public forum where no one can qalk through your cows and see them in person find an experienced person locally that can help you.

Allow me to refer you to the multiple pages of people desperately attempting to quiet you by suggesting many bulls that will likely work. Go back and read those posts, garner names of the bulls and apply them to a dart board. Use one dart and toss it. DONE!
