I have a 3 year old Yellow Jacket cow and was wondering what bull might be good to breed her to. She is a smoke. She is pretty large framed has nice bone and good top. Will not hurt to downsize a little.

I am using Yellowjacket on a 2 year old milkman cow, I would think MilkMan would work well. Might lighten up the smoke color a little but should be a thick build with those two bulls.

I have one Yellowjacket heifer that is bred to Troubador and should be calving in late Aug/early Sep.  I reserve the right to change my mind based on what that first calf looks like, but I really like my Monopoly calves I had this fall except for one aspect - they are a little too short.  I have a Monopoly heifer out of a Charolais-X cow (the cow in my avatar sired by the Charolais bull Troy) that is wicked good except she is knee high to a grasshopper (frame score between 3.5 to a 4).  She is the heaviest calf in my barn (heavier than her steer mates) and perfectly made structure wise, just short.  My line of thinking is that if the Yellowjacket momma will add some growth to the Monopoly, you could get one heck of a calf.

Thanks for your thoughts. I have thought of Milk Man because I have always wanted to try him. Have also thought of Monoply. Like I say she is large framed. Almost too large, so I thought Monoply might work well.

No question Milk Man has sired some great ones , one thing to think about on a MM x YJ mating is both bulls carry some big birthweights !
