does anybody have plans to make one? i have been looking for plans but couldn't find any. I did happen to find a classified ad with the kind of stand i was thinking of though, but i'm not sure what the measurements are. Here is the link to the ad with the picture; http://www.steerplanet.com/bb/index.php?topic=32678.0
Thanks in advance

I just printed a pic out of a catalog and kind of roughed one out of light duty pipe.  It is kind of heavy and being unpainted metal isn't very pretty, but it is functional.

I've seen several people using a dolly with a bar added to it to mount the fan to.

A few years back as a 4-H welding project i built one more of less out of pure scrap 1" square tube we had laying around. I looked at the fan we have being a 24" fan i made the stand 20" wide to give it plenty of stability, mine was basically made looking at show supply catalogs.

Cansteer - I am out of town for the week, so no way to get a pic for you.  Main thing is to have it lean forward a little bit so that the force of the air from the fan doesn't blow it over backwards.  Having the wheels set back a little helps too.  That and the extra weight of ours kind of prevents tipping for us.  Really just look at the geometry of the commercially made ones.  I think I spent an hour building ours and most of the time was spent cutting up the pipes and laying it out.
