my calf has been walking fine for over a month and tonight when i gave her a pull on the halter ,she would throw her head down and wont walk

pull and hold and let them produce the slack.  think about how it feels if someone were doing this to you, kinda like some of the responses on this thread.  eventually you are going to get resistance if one can't find relief.

for some reason, it's really difficult for people to discover this method.  you can't release the pressure fast enough.  it's really depressing to see the culmination of drag and pull method reveal itself in the showring with the human trying to pull the calf and getting tapped on the rear and everyone focusing on that animal and shaking their heads rather than focusing on the class itself.  judges seem to be able to avoid this dilemma better than most.  to me, it makes me not want to look at the animal again unless it is really good.

I can't believe I actually read through all of that trash. I for one will be excited for school to start back up.

Me either!  It was kinda like slowing down for a car crash on the highway.  You know you shouldn't do it, it's gonna be ugly and then you're embarrassed you did!  Yuck.

Amen, but I don't know how I missed this topic, pretty entertaining. Almost a topic of my dad will beat your dads but so bring it on.

I will be glad too!!! I find it funny how you can tell these are young kids without looking at their profile just by reading their comments. I think text messaging has pretty much ruined these kids and the way they just can not spell or use any type of decent grammer...

at some point, adults for some reason, teach kids to worry more about how they look rather than how to look for things.

for some reason, children seem susceptible to this vice, and once hardened, is rarely softened.
