Here is the full story. The calf was raised by Dustin Lamb and is sired by Silver Heat(Heatseeker x Galloway) out of a char cow. He sold in Dustin and Raymond's sale last fall to Colby Mcleod. I find it interesting that Raymond said he placed the calf as Colby and his dad live 15 miles from Dustin and had gone through those calves a few times to sort them out and trust me they don't need help finding one. They didn't get what was considered the top pick and bought this guy as their second choice. It worked out pretty well as the top calf didn't really turn out for the guy that got him and Colby's turned out pretty darn good.

Bawndoh this is what I was talking about when I said not knowing the facts. You state "Unless he was part owner of the steer". So I took it that you didnt know if he was part owner or not.

There is some truth to both sides i never once said that "I" won the stampede personally but it was a steer from a sale that Dustin and "I" started from scratch and are the only 2 people involved.As far as the whole who traded the calf thing yes dustin raised it out of one of his cows and a bull he purchased from Daine's...I was bidding on the calf for a group of kids that wanted to own him with me to take to Calgary until Colby got outbid on his first pick steer and I got him convinced to go on the steer I was on with the group and he did and we got outbid and he fed and took care of him all year and kicked ass and won Calgary....we helped fit him show days and we all worked together to help that steer do well therefore me, dustin and Colby and his family all had a role in getting the end result its a feather in all of our hats and we all deserve credit where its due,Colby worked hard all year and we were glad he did cuz that steer might not have turned out how he did under different management.

I appreciate the clarification and it goes to show that at the upper levels no one does it alone.
