Looking for information on Carter Airhart Cattle.  I believe it is Airhart Show Cattle owned/run?, by Colton & Michelle Airhart of Wolfforth, Texas.

Is Colton the son of Carter?  Now, the online sales read "Carter Airhart Cattle", but if you Google it online all I can find is Airhart Show Cattle.

But, I digress...

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this breeding program.  I was told that back in the early to middle 1990's, the Dad (Carter?), bought a bunch of moderate framed, deep bodied angus cows and leased approximately 50,000 acres in Texas.  He then bred the cows to a "Draft Pick son" owned/promoted by Bobby May.  Then later bred the resulting females to Charolais bulls.  The program then rose from that.  Colton has an online sale December 3rd.  He is selling semen on bulls that he says built the herd.  But they are not the bulls listed on his website.  I do see the Airhart cattle pedigree in many bulls promoted today.  i.e. Wade Roger's bull Extra Special is sired by Real Deal (Airhart) with KC Maine/angus dam.  I heard that some of the Brandon Horn cattle also have Airhart in them.

Colton states that his sires are "HAIRY" and "MATERNAL", yet look "clubby".  But have not modern day club calf genetics in them.

Please tell your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks!

You have a lot of false information what I will say is this. They're brothers running separate  deals carter does exotics Colton more with Americans. Both have and sell online and both offer rare and valuable semen that originated with their dad Randy

A lot of horns cattle do have Aithart breeding in them a lot of cattle in general in Tx do. I believe mostly all of those go back to KC a non reg purebred charolais

Call them if you're interested Colton doesn't answer the phone but carter usually will get back with you eventually. Long story short they're heavy line bred good shit but the 2 brothers are not to be confused with each other their programs are different

THANK YOU SHOW STOPPER!

I was very "confused" on the Airhart Family Cattle.  Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused.  I was trying to "match up Online Sales with the owners".  That is why I posted on SP with my questions.  Hopefully, I understand it correctly now, with your insight and helpfulness.

So let me see if I have it correct...

Randy Airhart: The Founding Father?
Colton Airhart: Son of Randy, Owner of Airhart Show Cattle, raises predominantly Americans?
Carther Airhart: Son of Randy, Owner of Carter Airhart Cattle Company, raises predominantly Exotics?

Carter has an Online Semen Sale on BW on Sunday, December 3rd.  Mostly Charolais Influence to PB Charolais.  Mostly linebred.  Including the KC bull.

Any thoughts on using these bulls?  These bulls seem to be THF & PHAF and not related to any of the current club calf sires.

Perhaps you or someone can inform me of a few other things...
Will they make show steers?
Will they make good milking and good uddered replacement cows with adequate pelvic size?
Any bone and hair?

How do these bulls compare with say a Brandon Horn bull, "Business Done Right" or his son "The General"?

Thank you again!

What type of cows do they work on?

You'd be correct on those accounts

Those bulls will do what you're asking the breeding side on them is very valuable and they will breed true and consistent to how they look

Would need to ask airhart how they compare to those other bulls but if my testimony is worth anything I've bought a pot load of 577 kc and 804 for 400+ a unit to use and I don't even raise club calves

On top of what's already been said, I'll add that I've had good dealings with them all the way around. Bought a few and sold a few without any issues at all. Call one of them up and they can compare those bulls for you.

Thank you both, Show Stopper 95 and WT!  I have tried calling both Carter and Colton.  Received their answering machines, left a message, have not heard back as  yet.

No problem.  I am sure they are busy.  Plus, $400/unit is a little beyond my budget.

Does anyone know the price of the semen selling Sunday has brought in previous sales?

Thanks Again!

Call carter tell him you're the guy from steerplanet and House told you to call him

It will be significantly cheaper than 400 they have opened up the market more and its cheaper I bought it when it was high because I was afraid they'd run out
