You should be paid for your time and reimbursed for any expenses. For example, I would charge so much per photo + mileage if travel is involved. As far as what to charge per photo, it depends on your expertise & your experience with professional livestock photography. A good quality photo should be worth $15-20, and your charges should include all the work it takes on your part to supply a usable product. Don't charge for taking the photo, then charge for Photoshopping, etc. (Unless an extreme amount of time is required because the owner doesn't bother to have the cattle presentable...in that case, I would charge more!) I would prob also consider a lower rate for multiple photos...it doesn't take a lot of extra time to take photos of two or three if you already have time committed to go over and take one. A couple other factors I would consider: Are you experienced & are you trying to do this as a business, or are you doing this as a favor to help a friend because he/she needs help getting a decent photo? And what kind of value does the owner see in having good pictures? If ur qualified to do this and the cattle are worth the time and effort involved, the photo should be worth the quote I mentioned...ball park anyway.
