Anyone have a opinion on the offspring of the Shorthorn bull CF Primo.  What type of cows does he work best on?

I have 2 dtrs here at the  house and 2 at Springlake. They make good momma cows. 3 of the 4 are moderate framed . He will pretty up a front end on one.
I have used him on heifers in the past and wouldn't be afraid to use him again in the future.

I have 2 Primo daughters left, both among my top producers.  When I sold down a few years ago, the others seemed to be the first to go.  I wouldn't sell these two.  One is out of a Double Trouble daughter.  Fortunately for me, she has produced 3 females that are outstanding.  It would take quite a bit of talking to pry one loose.  The other Primo daughter I have is out of a Double Down granddaughter.  I made the mistake of selling her first heifer calf, thinking the cow would have several more.  Nothing but bull calves since.  Her 2012 bull calf was born October 19th, my granddaughter's birthday.  Had he come about 2 weeks later and put in somebody's show barn....Let's just say he's developed quite well.  He's sired by my Bloodstone son.  Seemed to have worked.  I really like Primo crossed with Double Stuff line females or some with another shot of Maine.  He has been very good to use on heifers in my herd.  I don't think he downsizes and needs to be used on females with good rear legs.  He didn't improve rear leg structure on a few of my females, which surprised me.  On the other hand, I didn't get any bad legged calves out of good legged cows.  I would use him on a big bodied, big hipped, heavy boned female of moderate size.  The front ends will be pretty, you'll have a moderate framed calf made the way you like, in my opinion.  I still have 20 straws or so that I'm planning on using on the upcoming Zulu daughters I'll get.

I can not let this one go without my 2 cents worth.

I bought a flush from CF out of their Casino cow and used Primo upon recommendation from CF.
When I used him his calves were SUPER INSANE CRAZY.  I mean totally unbreakable, nuts, and just plain psycho.  The heifers were pretty necked but pretty "gutless".  Seemed to be hard doing, and 2 of 3 didn't breed so they got their heads chopped off. 1 did breed (she was the one I did get halter broke).  The other two had little pig eyes, and a very broad foreheads. I swear you could have halter broke wild white tail deer easier.
When I asked around, others had similar experiences.

Did he get put on the open market? When I used him he was "syndicated".

OK, I will go away again.  Take it for what it is worth.

I don't know the circumstances here, but I have found the temperament of ET calves is as closely related to the temperament of the recip mom as it is to the genetics in their make-up. I have seen it here and I actually had to get rid of a recip because she was a nut cake and her ET calves were exactly the same. She was a super mother in every way, except she had a bit more fire in her veins that I liked.
I also had an experience where I sold a set of embryos to a guy in the southern US and he implanted the embryos into a set of Brahman X recips that were beyond wild. He told me he would never do that again, as the calves were simply crazy. I don't know what your circumstances were, but these have been some of my experiences.

The recep cows were not the issue. My other calves, which were picked up at the same time, were perfectly fine.  The cows are gentle, and believe it or not, the cow owners said that these calves were always nuts in the pasture.

I understand that calf behavior can be learned from the momma cow, but that was NOT the case here.  Like I said, I have had others tell me that their Primo calves were nuts also.

We had a Primo bull a few years ago and he had a wonderful disposition. He was very sound and was extremely easy to halter break.

I hate that you had that experience with your Primo calves. I was one of the original syndicate owners and still own my share. I have never had any attitude issues with my Primo calves and to be honest haven't heard that from anyone .
Primos' attitude as a calf and later as a mature bull in the pasture has been great. Any chance momma contributed to the attitude any?
There is several bulls out there that I will cross my fingers when I start to break their progeny that they don't live up to the attitude reputation. Primo is not one of those bulls.
Once again I truly hate that you had that experience with the Primo calves or any calves for that matter, but I sure wouldn't hesitate to use him again and will use him.

This is a picture of a cow we are looking for a bull to flush her to.  So far we flushed her to AOD, Hi-View Red Rock and just finished a flush to Monopoly.  She had a Bell Ringer(natural Hfr calf) that we sold in the Family Legacies Sale this fall.  Her registration number is x4151163.
Any ideas what to flush her to?  CF Primo was an option, also looks like may be able to share a flush with Kolt-RGLC Simplify.
