I was very impressed with your Firewater cow and if anything she made me like him more. The main problem with Firewater for me is that where I am located it is hard for us to do anything but sell bulls to commercial cattleman, and the show look that Firewater has is not always desirable to our customers, but I agree that he does throw some dang good show calves. That's nice to know about Cool Rep I will look at more of his calves before we think about doing any breeding to him. Mind me asking how much you sold that heifer for?

That may be so about his shoulder-  I may not place as much importance on that as I should especially when I see they have enough forward lean.  What do y'all think about is a lot three sun and their upcoming sale?

That is how I am too I have not put much importance on shoulders as long as there is nothing extreme but I probably should. I have that catalog at home and I do really like the Lot 3 and Lot 1 bull. Take a look at the EPD's on lot 3, WOW!! I just can't wait until the videos of the bulls are up on the M6 website. If you look at lot 210, the dam of that cow #602 is the cow from my original post. What do you think of Bells & Whistles?

I sold that heifer for 2500 dollars nothing crazy and she is a sound calf by all accounts don't get me wrong I like cool rep (obviously) as well as I like any other bull just wanted to forewarn the shoulder deal that I observed- not that they have issues just seem to run straighter than a lot of the popular genetics and get one in a pasture full of those it doesn't make a hill of beans. But get one in a ring of super laid back calves and she's only a nickle straight in the real world- and it sticks out like a sore thumb in the ring (I know that goes against damn near all show ring stereotypes but that's just my observation)

When I first saw bells and whistles he looked like he has certainly been fed more than the others haha he was a little chunky dude last fall but I can't wait to see the calves out of him, that's always when a true assessment came out. Fat or not- to have his numbers and phenotype is a rare package that anyone should be able to appreciate

I've seen Bells & Whistles in person twice.  His personality and disposition was as impressive as his phenotype.  I have semen (bought a package) and will be able weigh in on calves as soon as our three around here are all on the ground.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of pics.  I talked to Kevin (M6) and preliminary reports this fall all indicate he is truly going to be calving ease and heifer-safe; many used him on heifers and are having no issues.  The calves are coming easy with great extension in the front.  His EPD spread is desirable and I look for his CE and BW to actually improve over time if the early reports are any indication.  We are thinking of using him on our Firewater.

I'm always up for as many pictures as you would like to post! I hope you get some pics of the calves you have out of him that would be great. I'm definitely looking forward to when the semen becomes available to the public.

Bells and Whistles looks like a good one. He is certainly powerful.

A a high performance bull that combines WCR, Effertz and Cnadian breeding with super high EPDs is RAWES Arden 54U: http://tripleaaacharolais.com/charolais-herd-sire-rawes-aden-54u/.  Tjis bull come out of one of the biggest charolais herds in canada and the cattle are not shown.  Their purbreds are managed with their grade cows.  They do have one of the better charolais bull sales with great buyer acceptance no purbred trading.
If it is power you want look at Pligrim or the French bul Impair.  I mpair semen is tough to get but he is great power bull and has EPDs as good as any domestic bull.

Lot of things I like about Firewater ,and I have only got about ten calves ...One of the first one's was coming backward and had the widest rear
end I had ever seen and I raise a few clubby's .... Also towards the end of those ten head had another birth problem ,they were out of UNLIMITED EASE
cow's that usually are known for calving ease .....Had a couple  bull calves out of a couple of my better cow's that I'm going to use instead of their sire ....IMO the Cigar cattle have some calving ease and reproductive problem's and hope using these son's might get away from that....

How would Firewater work on a clubby made Shorthorn + steer making cow with no Charolais in her blood what so ever?
