I was just wondering what yalls opinion of the lautner bull Choppin Wood is. I think he looks like a tank in the picture but  I have not heard of many calves out of him this year. If you have calf pics could you please post them and if you have any opinion at all could you post that too? Thanks guys!

Bred him to my best cow....I'll let you know how that goes in Feb. I was impressed by him and the few calves I have seen out of him.

I have not seen any calves yet, but I can say I saw him at Powers as a calf and he looked awesome from day one. can't wait to see some great smokies!

Saw him at stud about a year ago.  Wasnt impressed with him in person, number one reason- Attitude.    He was flat mean.  Kept ramming the gate to try to get at us.  Also wasnt real impressed with him visually either as he was extremely small, as well as being pretty bulky shouldered.  Just my 2 cents.

Had a friend see him in stud at Michigan and gave me the exact same report

I think he got used quite a bit for a rookie bull and was surprised that more calves did not show up in fall sales.  Either they werent good enough to sell or everyone retained them for females.
