My daughter decided she wants to shoot for a blue roan out of her PB Maine BK Power Plus cow. Cow is about a frame 6, correct, and reasonably deep. She has worked well with Ali in the past. Birthweight has not been an issue on this cow's first 5 calves - all <80 pounds and unassisted. Looking for some power and base width. The Buddy Love photo is really cool, but not his PHA test. Any clean, easily available bulls punched out of the same mold? Opinions on Bartender? Thanks in advance.

Well, if you were open to a TH carrier, then Vegas would be the best pick.

What about Off Road?  Th and PHA clean...outcross from most other Shorthorn genetics right now.  Big, hairy, stout, structural correct.  Semen $25 at Top Sires.

Better see if Okie Dokie is a carrier.  A customer was going to breed his 4-H heifer he got from us to TJH Okie Dokie, and did not after he checked the list.  You are right to avoid carriers--it makes life simpler and will save you money.

I used Okie Dokie a few years back before anyone really knew about PHA.  Big calves. Nothing great when they grew.
There has to be better options.

Thanks ! He had just got back from about 3 months at SKF's. I got him back just before he turned in to a Gator fan ! ;D He's not a big bull but sure is about as sound and balanced as you can make one. Got some pretty nice heifer calves out of him.

CAB is thinking of our Canasta bull. You can find more info here: http://www.luckyspringsfarms.com/html/canasta.html or just give us a call/message.

Sorry for butchering your bull's name. I'm getting too forgetfull. I did get the 1st 2 letters. That's good for me on most days. I like your bull. Brent

We have great luck at getting blue roans out of sin city and he is double clean unlike his brother and have seen better calves. I think you will like the calves you get out of him.

You've seen better calves out of Sin City than out of Vegas? Might be the first time I've heard of that lol.  Sin City is a good bull, but he can make em tall and he doesn't always add a lot of thickness.
