I am looking for a clubby bull to use on some angus cows. Our county fair has been a slick show for years, and they just started allowing hair. I am looking for a bull with hair, but one that also throws true power that would look ok slick, I would also like the heifers to be functional. Any ideas?
Here is an example of some of my cows:

WOW nothing like going for the gold and asking for everything in your first post. Just kidding but that is a tough order to fill.
The first 2 bulls that come to mind that truly do what you are asking for is Troubador, and Felony. They are both white Char cross bulls. They have a pink nose so should always throw a smoke on your angus, and not a 3 way cross so the heifers have a chance of staying and working on the club bulls down the road.

After I posted, I realized that I really was asking for a lot lol. How about this, a bull that throws bulls that usually make nice steers and whose heifers are usually functional. I'm really not that concerned about hair in all honesty. I mean I live in Florida, this isn't the place for hair. I have never used clubby bulls before, I have been using simmental bulls and have been having good results. The only somewhat clubby bull I have used is Sheriff Taylor, the cow in the second pic. is due Jan. 15th to him.

Thanks frostback, I will have to look into those two.
I also like the look of Captain Morgan for smokes and have heard some good things about Paddy O' Malley. A new bull ABS has that caught my eye is Amen..

Really nice cows BTW.

ALmost Famous both bulls would give you some hair. The Almost Famous calves I have seen have monster hair.

R U going for smokes? Frosty what about Alias? He seems to work on Angus cows.

Thanks, OH.
I am partial to black, but I would rather have nice animals than just chase one color, so I am open to any color. If I don't like the calves, I can change the next breeding season. I haven't kept up with a lot of the clubby bulls, and I like Alias but I have seen some calves with really sloppy front ends.

Sunseeker all the way....front ends you have to watch but if the cow has a decent front end I would go for it. I don't think i have been disappointed with any sunseekers I have had. And I have 2 sunseekers that will be having their 2nd calves this year. Last year they had great calves out of my simm bull. This year we will see how they do bred to One and Only.

I would like to see that. I have a Sunseeker heifer that will calve in march that is a THC, what are your heifers like phenotypically? Ours is a baldy, so that might click with her. Please keep us up to date.

Alias would be a choice too. You would only get smokes half the time. If colour is not the deal breaker, but he had said he wanted it so those two were the first that came to mind. You could also use a white shorthorn bull for blues but it is hard to predict how much roan will show.

I'll Second Almost Famous

We flushed an angus cow to Almost Famous and got some killer calves. We kept the females who are in production now, and we kept the bull calves as herd bulls. My steer this year is actually out of one of those very bulls.

I like Irish Whiskey on Angus cows and if a person was wanting to lower their risk of getting possible PHA carriers, there are a # of clean IW sons available. The 2 first clean sons that I would try would be Dubai & Okhoma Storm.

Our experience with purebred angus cows has been great with Who Made Who and Monopoly.  They were 4 out of our 5 top sellers at our sale this fall.  Since we're in Canada, Monopoly and WMW semen are now rare and/or very expensive.  We've gone to Highliner and Eye Candy to calve out of our purebred angus cows this year which will come between now and the middle of January.  We plan on using Eye Candy, Highliner, Mercedes Benz, and Boardwalk on them for their next calves.

Thanks for all the input, I really have a bunch of bulls to look at. ;D
This year I have one heifer out of Dream On, one out of Duff Standout and a calf due in January out of Sheriff Taylor. The rest of my calves are out of purebred simmi I have that's a Goldmine son, or a SimAngus I raised out of Simme Valley Macho.

I would steer clear of alias just because he has so many structure problems. My vote goes for yellow jacket or paddy o'malley.

I have used Yellow Jacket an on a whole not that impressed , use a cow that has lots of guts an thickness... Angus cows proably would be best thing to use on him, have had structure problems with X cows an no guts .... Troubador definitely , Anarchy is another choice like Felony but not many calves ... tHE Muddy
