Has anyone used Coleman Charlo 0256?  How are the calves looking?

Bred a couple Simmy heifers to him late last breeding season.  They came on time and came easy.  Jet black, excellent looking calves.  Will positively use him in 2015 breeding!

Just picked up 10 vials of Charlo, going to try and get them all in.

Thought i'd bump the thread, and see if there's any updates on calves.

This is a bull that I have considered and I like almost everything about him. I am seriously concerned about a 53 inch mature height. Imo that is getting way to small I am sure he packs on the pounds, but I don't believe I could market Bulls to commercial cattlemen that small.

I wondered about his frame in the video, but don't know anyone who has seen him in person. The updated picture revealed a little more about him as well.

I didn't end up using him myself, but I think I would have been ok as the cows have the frame size and he has a lot of what they need.

We've used Charlo a few times.  He works well on larger framed females.

His calves def come great, but after their 205 day weight, they stop stretching and don't keep up with the others yearlings.

The calves look more than great, but usually stop growing and stay smaller with that 5.0 frame.  Use larger framed cows with him, and it's a charm.

Interesting to see his updated photo and video. The reason i'd like to use him is to supply a few grass-fed animals to a local butcher. Everything I've been reading is pointing to these OCC style genetics with 5 frame sizes.

Big difference than the Western Canadian Simmi's we have. Should be fun to see how they turn out.
