If that is true, there will be some dissapointed folks this fall that bought heifers at Kris Black's sale bred to Carpe Diem.

Not a heifer bull , unless wanting to have some to pull , think they are going to be very ell muscled calves out of cows ...

I agree they're pretty stout, but they lean toward a longer, smoother kind of muscle pattern than most of the harder calving bulls.  I know alot of folks in this part of the world that've calved heifers to him for a couple of years now and haven't heard of any train wrecks yet.  My brother is calving some heifers to him now - he says they look to be around 80 lbs but have all calved unassissted so far.

How tall will they be?  He looks pretty compact in his photo, so I'm thinking you use him on bigger females.  I'd love to hear from someone that's used the bull, but they seem to be in short supply on this board.

Here is a video of a first calf heifer/calf that I bought at the Cream of the Crop sale after having her Carpe Diem bull calf this afternoon about 6:30 pm.  It came easily and was up and nursing rather quick. Calf was a week early.

Had one this spring that was a pretty good pull out of smoke heifer ...like Chambero said there is some where around 8-10 lbs more on spring birth because of mother nature in our country ...Jamie

We are full into calving season now.  Lost a good looking Cottonmouth bull calf out of a Buzz (Full Form) momma.  Spotted red calf, don't know what happened.  Other than that, everything going good.  Several Monopolies have come easy.  Ree Heights calf a couple of hours ago.  Troubadors haven't come yet.

Here is another Carpe Diem. That was born late August.  Came a couple of weeks early around 55 pounds.  Expecting a Walks Alone and a couple of WMW's this week.  We ultrasounded and I know they are going to be heifers. Lost a Walks Alone bull calf out of an older Angus cow that I have been treating for pnuemonia all summer.  She calved two months early.  Chambero, please keep us posted on those Troubador calves.  I am looking for Char influenced bull to use on some SimAngus cows.  Troubabor and Yellow Jacket are on the short list.

Cut one out of a George x 734 heifer last week (#5 in the cream of the Crop sale) 88 lb calf and a coke bottle shaped narrow pelvic. Both doing good. We had a good one last year out of a really small hereford second calver 85 lbs but come easy.
