I know this has probably been asked and answered here before but I'm having a tough time finding it....what is everyone's daily routines for hair care with a cool rom?  This is our first summer with a cool room and I just want to be sure we are doing everything correct.  If it gets below 70 we turn the steer out at night.  In the am my daughter rinses him for at least 20 min then brushes him and puts him away wet.  Later on in the evening she rinses him again for 20 plus min. And then blows him dry and Kleen sheens him brushes him and blows him some more.  Our cooler has been staying 56-60 consistently.  Anything else she should do or anything she should change?  We have 50 days until our county fair.  Thanks for any and all help!

I would blow them completely dry after both rinsings. Leaving them wet all the time isn't as good for the hide and it will also make the humidity level in your cooler go up. In my experience, this will either make the cooler feel  little warmer or it will make your unit work double duty to pull all of the moisture out of the air, which makes it use more electricity which cost more money and more wear and tear.

Other than that it pretty much just boils down to time and keeping the hair coat clean. I would always like to go in throughout the day and turn the blowers on and just blow on them for 15-20 minutes to make sure the hair is clean and has the ability to breathe well. A lot of people will also throw in an afternoon rinsing as well.

Cooler routines are as wide ranging as just about any aspect of this deal so find something that works for you and gets you the results you are looking for and stick with it. They are a great tool but they do require a lot of dedication and hard work

We just got our cooler up and running this week and this is an awesome topic.  We are walking, rinsing and blowing at 6:30 in the morning, letting them eat, then putting them in the cooler.  Around 1 we go and offer water.  I am feeding in the cooler at 8 because the temps here don't drop down to 80 until around 11 p.m.  Then we brush and turn out for the night.  This afternoon, husband and daughter, spent about an hour blowing, combing and rotobrushing the calves in the cool room.  If anyone has any cool room tips they would be appreciated.  We are trying to find a routine that works for us.

we wash them early in the morning and brush them until they are pretty well dry and then feed. We then turn our steers out at dark after feeding . works very well for us .
