Cooler Bedding?

I have a cooler and we put wood chips in and have to clean it out entirely atleast once a week along with scooping poop every night.  Just wondering what the best bedding is or if i just need to put up with the cleaning demands.  Have heard of using sand, but they say it is worse on the hair.  Any experience with anything else?

We've got these pads that came in 8x4x4" that work pretty well to bed on. I'm not sure where they can be found but they are awesome for fitting mats and bedding mats. I'd put a hard base down first then put these things on top. you can just spray them down.

I use the pellet bedding and it works great since it absorbs the urine, but the light pellets work alot better then the dark.
