I had good luck using Crimson Tide on first calf heifers.  Has anyone else used him on heifers?  I had four that way.  Three were bulls and one was a heifer.  Here is one of the bull calves born Sept 1st out of a Monopoly X Sim heifer.

Thats a badass calf being out of a heifer
Thanks.  He is the chubbiest of the three.  Here is a side view of him.  One of the others is solid red like a shorthorn and the other is solid black.

Actually, Phil did recommend Crimson Tide to me right here on Steer Planet.  On one of those on-line forums, I asked him what would be a good choice for some of my SimAngus heifers and he recommended CT.  Not sure why they don't promote him more.

I don't think he would help a plainer cow.  I used him on clubby heifers, two of which were TH carriers.  I think he adds lots of look, hair and reduces frame. The red and white calf in the photos is out of a Monopoly X Sim heifer that is a TH carrier.  She is bred back to Yellow Jacket but I wish I had bred her back to CT.  Hindsight, right?

We have used Crimson Tide on first calf heifers, each cow we have used him on was a purebred shorthorn. he worked well. i can post a pic of a Crimson Tide Calf we had 2 years ago if ya'll would like.

phil did promote him a couple years ago. he said to use him on heat wave daughters. ive used him and never had any calving problems. the ones that i have had are very good haired, pretty sound, and good thickness to them and he stretched the neck out really good. they werent the deepest in the world but i would tend to blame the cows for that, they were not overly deep. imo he is under used. he also died last summer.
