Skirt steak was one of the cheapest cuts but is now widely used to make fajitas and has became more expensive. It is usually tenderize by machine , marinated then vacuum sealed for Restaurants. Frankly I did not know exactly were it was located and I'm a Chef.

Cut the BS. You come across being extremely cynical and bitter. It's your tone that is most annoying. Please help yourself and work on that. It's so unpleasant.

JIT. One day I would like to meet you. You have a talent with putting ideas in perspective. Always well  said.

So when the young lady has to find an answer to any question the best thing for her to do is jump on a forum and ask? What research skills does that take? Yeah, it's easy but is that the answer to everything? One of the biggest problems with our youth today is that they have to have it RIGHT NOW! With as little work as possible.

I don't believe asking questions on a chat forum is the answer to all questions. But at the same time this is STEER PLANET a chat forum that is full of knowledgeable cattle men and women that would be more than happy to give her an answer. And whats wrong with wanting everything right now. We are always told to strive for the best and if you work hard and put your mind to it you can achieve anything. I believe that's called drive. I want to have cattle that produce state and national champions right now, but I know that's not going to happen for a long time but if I work hard and play my cards right one day I will hopefully achieve that goal.

i sorry for asking this is rediculous how adults are acting. because I was curently at school when i asked this because most web cites are blocked. I was just asking a simple question that i couldnt find. and i believe i have the right to because to my understanding theres no such thing as a dumb question or at least thats what my parents have taught me. And for cut the BS seems like you need to cut the BS because thats rediculos how you are acting towards one little question. sorry for the misunderstanding in this whole deal. thought i could people on steer planet because they know a little bit about cattle (hint) the name but thank you everyone that answered the question. :)

Having it RIGHT NOW is fine but as my parents taught me, go look it up and read the information. I didn't say that she shouldn't ask, that being said don't always take the first answer as the gospel you might be disappointed with the results. There is no better learning tool than a book and questions. But reading the information for your self sometimes is a whole lot better than asking and getting 100 different answers and being as far away from the real answer as you were to begin with, and maybe more confused. Patience is a virtue!!

I guess you learned more than where skirt steak comes from!  (thumbsup)

The butcher (hubby) agrees that it is part of the diaphram.  And no, I don't have a pic.  Good luck.

It comes from the short plate.  Ahead of the flank, behind the foreshank or front leg.  If brisket = chest, short plate = diaphragm  when comparing beef to people.  I knew where it was located and had a hard time verifying it on the internet or finding a picture actually calling it by name.

Cut the BS, i wish you would.  This morning I left a county corn/soybean growers meeting where we discussed Ag in the Classroom activities with 3rd graders, Food checkout activities at grocery stores, and how to defend retired land grant academia attacking our farming practices.  Your attitude towards this request makes these efforts more challenging.  Being honest, blunt, direct, and to the point does not have to be rude and annoying.  When you are 2x or 3x your present age, you may begin to understand those generation's approach.

Wouldn't normally respond to a post like this, but it bugs me.  Are they not teaching proper grammar at school?  Ridiculous has no E in it, and you are not supposed to start a sentence with the word and, which coincidentally is the only beginning of a sentence that is capitalized.  Nothing major, but it makes it a lot easier to read the post when some resemblance of grammar is used.  Last, if I remember right you posted quite a few questions on steerplanet in one day for a school project, not a big issue, but people might be a little friendlier if you did some of the work yourself.
