I was jsut wondeirng what everyone's daily routines consist of.  We just got our 3 new heifers this weekend and was curious how everyone does it.  These are kind of a family project so everyone jumps in and helps rinse and blow them out and clean out the pen and so on.  We put them in the cool room for the first time this morning and have yet to turn them out into our turn out lot at night (will probably start that tonight).  Was curious if you feed first thing or get started rinsing and then feed.  And then at what time does everyone feed at night.  We have been waiting until we got done working them and rinsing them before we feed them but my wife and I was talking if we should feed them first and let them get done eating or get two of them started eating while we start on the first calf.  I just seems we have a lot of time after we get done rinsing and everything waiting on them to get done eating.  Thanks for the advise!

In the mornings I get them up around 7:30, feed, hay, into the fans, brush, spray in conditioner, rinse, brush hair up. Around 3:00 I rinse and brush again. At dusk, I get them out, feed, practice with them, rinse, and brush. Then, I put them out with hay.
Good luck!!! There are a lot of people on here that may can help you more, but that what seems to work for me.

In the morning we feed first betwween 7 and 7:30 then rinse and condition brush brush brush.then under the fans(we don't have a cool room) then around 2 or 3 rinse , brush comb again ( if its really hot then we will rinse at noon and 3)Usually work with them after the 3 o clock rinse then back under fans. evening feeding around 7:30 or 8 then we rinse them again brush comb either blow them or work with them some more and usually turn them out around10 to 10:30. This is our routine and I'm sure you will hear of many more.We kinda use this as our outline and tweek it for what the calves seem to need. Sometimes we feed less in the am and more in the pm if its seems they are eating better that way. we like to try and work them a little mid day because thats when they will be in the ring.Oh yeah forgot to mention we will usually tie them up with heads high after the afternoon work out( under fans of course) this seems to help with the long days at the shows standing leave them there for 3 to 4 hours. Well hope this helps some.

Thanks for the advice everyone.  I have started feeding before we rinse and work them and the process has seemed to go a little smoother the past couple of days.  It has been a while since my wife and I have had show calves so it has taken us a few days to find a routine and get in a groove.  Thanks again for your help.
