It is not my intention to spread rumours, but I was told that he was injured, and had to be euthanized.

He was born January 2009, we saw him down at WHR in March when they had their sale. Extremely impressive bull, tried to buy some semen then but it went too high for us. Ended up buying a cow that was bred to him though, she had a bull calf a couple days ago, which is why I started this thread, was hoping he was freezing good and semen was fairly abundant so I may be able to buy some at auction to breed her back. No such luck. I guess we do have a bull calf on the ground out of him, which may be a bit more valuable now that he is dead, that's the only positive I can think of! I hate it for Bill and Bob, really great guys from what little I know and have talked with them (I'm sure the other members of the syndicate are great people too, I have just never spoke with them.)

That always sucks to hear news like this. I may be wrong but he had already out lived his sires age when he died. How old was trump when he died I wonder? The Dottie cow has lived to a ripe old age. Gotta love the cows that just keep on going. What other sons are out there other then cloud nine? He is THC so any clean bull out of him should be relatively easy to move. Waco puts a little to much leg under them for me personally but the calves a sharp looking.

Cloud 9 is sired by Vegas, Waco is a Sonny. They are both out of Dottie 12H. Surely Sonny lived longer than that with the amount of semen that he produced and the number of progeny he has?

It would be interesting to know how long ole Trump lived, he looks fairly old in the main picture of him, but who knows.

I believe Trump died at medium age of accidental causes.  Most of the bad bulls never stay away from the packing plant long enough to die from accidents.  My Trump bull is 5 1/2 and sound as a dollar.  I hope he lives to 20, but the barn could fall on him tonight.  I think I remember a story about Dividend's nose ring getting caught on an electric fence.  If that's true, he sure didn't die because he was unsound, just a little unlucky.  Around here, the general rule of thumb is if they're good and I like them, they'll be hit in the head with a meteorite after raising 5 bull calves in a row and if they aren't so good, they live to 20 and have a heifer calf every year.

I have a few Waco calves, and non of them a leggy, a couple could use a little more stretch actually, also Waco is THF

Got my bulls confused there. I forgot cloud nine is out of Vegas.  Oakview I've never heard the story on trump. I'd love to read about it sometime. Like I said I could be wrong but I thought sonny died young.

I would not say our DF Waco had too much leg under them.  Of course they are not 3 or 4 frame cattle either.  We sold a bull to Eric Ballman of Ks in the 2012 Iowa Beef Expo.  He was a 6.5 frame bull, was 13 month old and weighted 1508#, had a 3.72 WDA, had an actual Rib eye of 18.9 and his scrotal was 41.5.  That is the kind of bull that will put some weight on those calves.  With the high feed cost they have to gain and GROW.  Another thing we have found with Waco calves is the disposition is great.  My granddaughter who is 21  was helping me get calves ready for our sale.  There were 4 heifers in the pen, 3 Waco's and one from another bull.  She says to me this one isn't a Waco. I said why and she said the Waco's want to lick me the other one wants to eat me.

DF Waco is the best bull I  have every used. Can't wait until I get a roan Waco son to replace him. Only had one Waco bull calf this year and he is red and horned.  Guess will have to wait until next year to find his replacement.

Those are good numbers on your bull. Excellent in fact. A 13 month old bull at a 6.5 frame is to tall for me personally. Lots of folks will disagree. My only question is how much did it cost you to get that performance? Not a knock on the bull just a legitimate concern of mine when selecting bulls. Waco has a highly proven sire and dam. He's a good bull. Just trying to explain why the Wacos I've found we're a tick to tall for me.

I was very pleased with the bull we bought from Mitchell's.  He was leaning a little more towards show shape when we picked him up, but got into breeding shape by the time breeding season rolled around.  He kept his cover very well through a terribly dry Kansas summer, running with about 10 cows on some pretty shortgrass pasture.  I don't know that he grew much taller from the time we picked him up in February to now.  We are anxiously awaiting his first calf crop, should start arriving this February.

Those numbers are meaningless to me.  He talks in terms of the bull adding lbs to a calf crop but when the bull was clearly pushed on full feed his entire life, how in the world would you have any idea as to his ability to inject growth in his calves?  Obviously his calves have the potential to replicate his growth but no one that is concerned with profit lbs has calves on full feed.

I saw Waco in person at WHR. In fact I got my hands on him at the hay rack and I can tell you that he is a capacious bull.  He has/had ( I personally don't believe these big name bulls randomly die just as they start to gain real notoriety but thats jmo) plenty of retail product.  Sarge told me he was a  6.5 Frame as standing as a mature bull.  For an offspring of his to be that height at 13 months, he must have came of out a pretty framey cow. I like his overall size.  When I saw him he wasn't framey by any means. HE was just as deep/wide as you'd like to see in the bulls you prefer but in a proportionally bigger package.

Wow! That is news to me. As soon as I read this I went immediately to my email to attempt to get some more semen. I really like what I have seen out of Waco and think a lot of the bull. Almost as much as Star Bucks, ;). I have two really good sons of Waco right now that are out of the Australian outcross cow that we had WF Athena W50H. Thinking about consigning them to the Ohio Beef Expo. Couldn't find the picture of the two I took from our sale but it is up on our facebook page.
