Before I rant, let me concede that the kid has a point. Not a great one, but a point. Fact is, this is not some tobacco chewing illuminatti of BIG TIME steer producers exchanging respective judging schedules and alligning bids at their sales.

I will say this. Even though Hook is the only Million Dollar Round Table Member of semen seller/ bull owners that is  a known ,active participant, dont think for a second there arent some that read it. And some even post. For some, the anonymity of a forum is an opportunity to play bigshot and degrade others without having to play their own cards. For some it is an opportunity to interact and share in an environment that wouldnt reflect on their real situation.

Fact is I can tell a wannabe Player by what they say on here. It would take an arrogant, misguided, out of the deal the minute Dad cuts em off, no cow owning, Jackelope to make a comment like that on a forum like this.

Why do I think that? Because those that are true cowfolks, whether they are Bob May or Freddy First years grandpa, know that first and foremost this is a youth game that has a great more to do with life lessons and relationships than it does with purple banners, high dollar steers traded, or semen sales. Second of all real cowfolk know everyone starts somewhere.

The point is, this is a wonderful forum with folks from all over with diversity among interests and age groups. The only apparent requirement to membership is that you like cattle. Any young person who may make a statement, or ask a question that would seem basic to some, just may be the one who either is looking to buy a big ticket, or maybe is the one selling a big ticket sometime in the future.

I have actually gotten some helpful feedback when I have asked questions here. Having a DVM answering questions, or one of the most respected embryo dart throwers around is reason enough for a "real cowman" to check in.

For the record, I love the pic. I did a double take when I saw the pic as she is marked exactly like one I have that I guarantee NE couldnt afford. And I doubt mine is better than the one pictured.

I dont think even a big breeder would call this a bad calf. If you ask me nice calf. Somebody did a great job deciding what to breed that cow too. Actually wouldnt mind having that heifer myself. Plenty of bone and squarness of hip. Get some hair on her and work her a little bit and you'll have a true knockout on your hands!!!  (clapping)

Looks like a pretty darn good heifer.  She is certainly chromed up enough to get a lot of folks looking.  I'd like to see her in person some time to really get a good look at her.  Nice job on selecting the genetics.

As for those who don't appreciate positive feedback without trashing people along the way----I recommend you fill out your profile so we all know who is talking and then you can say what you want.    As  long as you stay anonymous nobody will respect your opinion anyway!!  Complaining without identifying yourself shows a true lack of character and class.  IMHO If you don't like the way we play the game take your attitude and go play somewhere else.

Granted, these are the best photos I've seen, it is absurd to listen to you all rave about these pictures! What a joke! I guess this is why major breeders don't post stuff on this site. It is impossible to get anything except: "Awsome Calf!", "What is it out of?", "It has the right look!".  We should not be patronizing each other

I have seen plenty of constructive criticism on calves posted on here.  The keyword is constructive, some of these calves posted are 4h kids showing them in local fairs, not everyone is spending 10k and up.
