Very happy with my purchases!

Seems to be a Shorthorn sale weekend! What lots did you get? We were able to get some embryos yesterday at the All Star Classic from Horeshoe Creek. The Waukaru Orion 2047 out of a Saskvalley Pioneer daughter of Prairie Lane Sparkle, HC FL Sparkle Delight 2X. We already put two embryos in this year out of 2X and Paintearth Rama 53U.

Thanks Dan for buying the Orion X Sparkle Delight 2X embryos yesterday. I have about 5 pregnancies from this flush due next spring and also have 3-4 from Rama and 2X as well. 2X is an absolute tank of a female and is looking great. She will be bred for a fall calf and then go back for a few more flushes again.
Tomorrow I head to Iowa to pick up a new Eby trailer and also bring home a couple of cows from Waukaru and some ET calves from a cooperator herd in Minnesota. I was hoping we could have been able to get all the export papers signed earlier so I could have attended the Iowa sales the past few days. It looked for awhile like the papers would expire before the government shutdown would be over. Everything is signed now and I better get them back here before something else happens to complicate things!

Obotoks:  It was a great sale weekend.  I was able to get lots:  38a, 46, and 51.
2 bred heifers and 1 heifer calf.  Got them home and fed them the first night and #51 is definitely showing that she isn't shy! LOL  about ran me over when she saw the feed bucket coming!  I chose them due to the commercial appeal of the breeding-- should fit in my program just fine.

I did not get any embryos bought this weekend-- wish I would have been paying  better attention to when that embryo sale was.  I went to Studer's sale in between switching from beans to corn  and trying to run as fast as we can to get done.  My husband needs to have surgery on his shoulder again and we are putting it off until field work is done-- so we are pushing.
