As you all already know, Angus is now MY business breed. As I've said, I've looked over numerous companies, what they say their cattle can do, and what they've been proven to do. However, I have found that in my environment, cattle are really put to the test. So far, OCC genetics have been a great asset although I know some folks who have had mixed results with their OCC cattle. DDA genetics have been pretty decent performers in my operation as well. One of my best heifers was sired by TQ Masterpiece G54M who was sired by the PCC bull Moderator. Her momma was sired by OCC Anchor. Now, here's where I'm at for A.I. Three of my unregistered cows (including the Anchor and Masterpiece females) go to the Hereford bull you've already seen in a previous thread. Then, I have to come up with an Angus bull for 2 yearling heifers and 2 registered cows. I'd really rather use the same bull on all 4. My one registered cow is out of DDA Emblazon 27C. The other is out of OCC Hunter 928H. On all 4, I've actually considered using Masterpiece if I can find some semen. The other two bulls I have in mind are DHLL Night Man out of DHD Traveler 6807 and Mon Reposa Rito. I've attached pictures of the bulls and my two registered cows. Both the yearling heifers are growthy, and one could use a touch of depth. Lemme know how you'd breed them so I can get some outsider perspective. 'Preciate it.
