After the horrible last couple of weeks, 8 live calves out of the first 12 born, we finally had a great day.  Kentucky Beef Expo is this weekend and needless to say we had nothing ready to show but since I am the new coach of the livestock judging team got them ready and took them.  We had two first time judges, and two including my daughter who have been judging now for 2 years, all juniors.

The team placed 5th overall, which was great, I was tickled, then they announced individuals, Caitlin won!!!!  The best part was, I was writing down my picks, she even rolled the coach!!  One of the proudest moments I've ever had with her.

Here she is with her award, can't tell by the smile she was pleased, can you?

Awesome. My wife knew exactly how you were feeling. Last winter we had 3 breech and 3 C-S. And when it was -35 and I was gone to work we had 7 calves in 40 hours and are were only set up to handle 2 or 3 a day when I was home with her. She saved every one and never even lost a ear. When I got home and asked her which cow a calf belonged to she was unsure. So tired that everything was a blur. Then at our first junior show our daughter who was 9 won the junior judging, so we know how pumped you all would of been. Six days till our shows start.Congrats to your daughter.
